Understanding the Best Interests of the Child Test

Recorded on April 17, 2014 - All custody and access decisions are made using the best interests of the child test, as set out in section 24 of the Children's Law Reform Act. The test has a number of factors that judges are required to consider in making decisions about custody and access. This webinar examines each factor in the context of a case involving violence against women and makes suggestions for frontline workers about evidence a woman can use to support her application for custody of her children.
